Zagarella “Alfierinero” Rosso IGT Calabria 2022 – Country: Italy – Capacity: 0.75 Zagarella We are in Arghillì, on the outskirts of Reggio Calabria. It is here that the Zagarella farm cultivates its vineyards from which the Malvasia Nera grapes used to produce this interesting Alfierinero, a red IGT Calabria wine. A wine appreciated by wine lovers and wine critics who have awarded it several very positive reviews. The grapes are harvested when fully ripe, when the berries have concentrated all their aromas, colour and sugar to the full. Vinification begins with a maceration phase lasting about two weeks in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Once the alcoholic fermentation and malolactic fermentation have been completed, the wine is passed into large 20-hectolitre oak casks. And, before bottling, only a light clarification is carried out. This reveals a wine characterised by a beautiful, deep ruby red colour, with intense aromas typical of the variety. One recognises, in particular, spicy hints of tobacco and small, well-ripened berries. In the mouth, it is a well-structured, well-balanced wine with firm tannins. Excellent with grilled meat, but also with tasty cheeses and traditional cured meats.
