For once Sangiovese, which remains the absolute protagonist of the blend, is flanked by a small percentage of Alicante, about 5%. Alicante is, for those who are not familiar with it, a black grape variety, considered native to Spain, but also cultivated in the Maremma. In Spain, Alicante is also known as Garnacha. The processing at the winery is as simple as it is accurate and does not involve the use of wooden barrels. After racking, in fact, there follows a phase of aging in steel, for about 4 months, in contact with the fine lees, then refinement in the bottle for another three months before market release. Ruby red, on the nose it is vast, with fruity, floral and spicy hints. On the palate it is well balanced, with elegant tannins. Try it, without a doubt, with a nice Fiorentina T-bone steak.
