Terlano “Monticol” Pinot Noir Alto Adige DOC Riserva 2021 – Country: Italy – Capacity: 0.75 Terlano Noble Mountain Pinot Noir, Monticol, Alto Adige DOC Riserva of Cantina di Terlano, is made from grapes grown in vineyards located at medium to high altitudes, between 450 and 600 metres above sea level. Here, in fact, the air currents descending from the snow-capped peaks cool the temperature even in high summer, allowing the Pinot Noir to reach perfect maturity, with aromas of rare finesse and complexity. After all, Pinot Noir is at home in these parts. And certainly not for a few years. In fact, it has been cultivated in these areas since the mid-19th century, producing structured and elegant reds. And this Monticol is certainly no exception. After vinification, it is matured for at least 12 months, partly in large wooden barrels and partly in barriques, about a third of which are new. Ruby red, the bouquet of this Pinot Noir is rich in facets. Fruity aromas of raspberries, cherries and berries, with delicate notes of spices and hints of flint. In the mouth, however, it is pleasantly balanced, with a distinct mineral elegance. Complex and persistent, it goes well with meat dishes that are not overly complex or rich in gravy.
