Tenuta Gorghi Tondi “Meridiano 12” Zibibbo Sicilia DOC 2023 – Country: Italy – Capacity: 0.75 Tenuta Gorghi Tondi This pure Zibibbo comes from the estate’s vineyards crossed by the 12th meridian. An ideal place for the cultivation of vines and the production of quality wines for thousands of years. Zibibbo, in particular, is one of the oldest varieties cultivated on the island, capable of giving the resulting wines fresh citrus and floral scents. DOC Sicilia, this white wine produced by Tenuta Gorghi Tondi is certified organic. The grapes used to produce it come from the estate’s youngest vineyards, with a density of 4,600 vines per hectare and a production of about 80 quintals of grapes. Harvesting takes place during the second ten days of August. The must ferments in steel at a controlled temperature and, at the end of processing, the wine matures, again in steel, on its fine lees for about 5 months before being bottled. In the glass it has a beautiful straw yellow colour with greenish reflections. The nose is enveloping and aromatic, pleasantly fruity, with notes of almond, apricot, orange blossom, and sage. In the mouth, however, it is immediately pleasantly fragrant, with a perfect balance between acidity and savouriness. Ideal as an aperitif, served chilled it is excellent with fish dishes, especially shellfish, urchins and oysters.
