£18.50

Prunotto Barbera d’Alba DOC 2023 – Country: Italy – Capacity: 0.75 Prunotto It is the wine of tradition par excellence. We are talking, in this case, about an interesting Barbera characterised by great freshness and drinkability. The grapes, harvested when fully ripe, come from Prunotto’s own vineyards, which are located in the most beautiful areas of the denomination. Clayey and sandy soils, ideal for the cultivation of Barbera grapes from which a wine of great balance and pleasantness is obtained. After harvesting, the grapes are crushed and destemmed. This is followed by a maceration phase lasting about a week, alcoholic fermentation and malolactic fermentation. The entire transformation process is completed by mid-December. The following spring, wines from different vineyards are blended and bottled. In the glass, Prunotto’s Barbera d’Alba has a ruby red colour with violet reflections. The nose is vinous, with fresh floral hints of roses that combine with sensations of ripe fruit and spicy notes. In the mouth, however, it is a full and harmonious red. An excellent everyday wine, this Barbera goes well with the main traditional local dishes. Excellent, for example, with classic ravioli al plin served with meat sauce.
