In this case, Podere Montale offers Peposo (just because of its name, this bottle deserves to be tasted) a blend of Sangiovese, 80%, with Cab Sauvignon and Merlot in small portions, 10% each. The idea was to give an international touch to the undisputed Prince of Italian grape varieties, Its Majesty Sangiovese, with the noblest of international varieties. Without resorting to ageing in wood, but giving life to a simple and immediate wine. Good right out of the box and still drinkable within a few years. Peposo is a wine characterized by a beautiful ruby red color. On the nose, it can be described as “comegioioso”, floral, with notes of violets, fruity, with hints of freshly picked fruit. On the palate, it impresses with its freshness and minerality, as well as a pleasant tanginess that makes it easy to drink. Warning! With a nice steak next to it, it can become addictive.
