Mantellassi “Il Canneto” Sangiovese Maremma Toscana DOC 2023 – Country: Italy – Capacity: 0.75 Mantellassi Maremma Toscana DOC, Fattoria Mantellassi’s Canneto is a young red wine made from pure Sangiovese grapes. Specifically, it is obtained from a blend of various clones of Sangiovese, cultivated in the Maremma hills. Here, in the heart of Tuscany, the climate is hot and arid, with little rainfall. Ideal conditions for the cultivation of Sangiovese, which best expresses its characteristics here. A Tuscan native par excellence, Sangiovese is known and appreciated throughout the world. Canneto is the result of traditional red wine processing. After the harvest, the grapes are destemmed and crushed. The must obtained ferments in steel at a controlled temperature. This is followed by a period of ageing in steel for several months before bottling. In the glass, this Sangiovese from the Mantellassi house has an intense ruby red colour. The nose has aromas of red fruits, such as cherry and blackberry, with floral and spicy notes. On the palate it is lightly structured, drinkable and flowing, with good tannin and a moderately persistent finish. A pleasantly versatile wine, it goes well with a wide variety of dishes. In particular with red meats, cured meats and mature cheeses. Try it with first courses with meat sauce or meat sauces.
