Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2019 – Country: Italy – Capacity: 0.75 Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona’s Brunello di Montalcino DOCG is a sublime expression of the ancient oenological traditions of this region. It comes from vineyards located in the commune of Montalcino, at an altitude ranging between 240 and 360 metres above sea level. This wine is the result of a careful selection of Sangiovese, cultivated on medium-textured, marl-rich soils of Eocene origin. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel and vitrified cement vats, where the temperature is controlled by means of cooling jackets and immersion plates. This process makes it possible to best preserve the aromas and scents characteristic of Sangiovese grapes. For the maturation phase, then, Slavonian oak casks of 20 to 75 hectolitres are used, where the wine rests for about two years, followed by a further refinement in the bottle of more than 8 months. Ruby red colour tending towards garnet, on the nose notes of red berry fruit and a slight spiciness. In the mouth it is warm, soft and very balanced. A wine characterised by a good body, with moderately pronounced tannins and a long taste-olfactory persistence. This Brunello is the ideal companion for rich and tasty dishes. Excellent with game, roast or stewed and with first courses dressed with meat sauces. It is also an excellent companion for mature cheeses.
