Castello di Neive Langhe Arneis “Montebertotto” DOC 2023 – Country: Italy – Capacity: 0.75 Castello di Neive We are in Piedmont. Land of great red wines. But also of surprising white wines. Like this Langhe DOC, 100% Arneis, offered by Castello di Neive. Arneis, a white grape variety closely linked to the north-west of Italy, has always been one of the great passions of Italo Stupino, founder of the Castello di Neive winery, to whom we owe – as can be read on the winery’s website – the greatest efforts in clonal selection and qualitative improvement of the Arneis grape variety. Arneis, still considered the “white wine of the heart”, is still a wine much sought after by the company owners. Montebertotto, its trade name, is a fresh, young white wine that is aged in stainless steel vats to avoid any oxidation and perfectly preserve the primary aromas of the grape. In the glass, it has a beautiful straw-yellow colour. It is floral and slightly citrusy and is appreciated for its delicacy and aromatic persistence. A white wine that perfectly reflects its area of origin, also thanks to its typical, slightly almond aftertaste. A wine for a thousand occasions, it goes well with simple hors d’oeuvres as well as with first and second courses of fish. But it is also excellent with the classic Vitello Tonnato!
