Château Fleur Cardinale Chteau Fleur Cardinale Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé 2020 – Country: Italy – Capacity: 0.75 Château Fleur Cardinale Grand Cru Classé, this Bordeaux red reveals all the typical characteristics of the Saint-Émilion terroir. We are on the right bank of Bordeaux, where Merlot is the absolute protagonist. This wine, in particular, is made from 77% Merlot, with Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon to back it up. Grapes harvested in the estate’s vineyards, the harvest is carried out manually. The bunches of grapes are carefully selected, first in the vineyard and then, following destemming, in the cellar, so that only the best grapes, those free of defects, are sent for processing. Vinification takes place, by gravity, without the aid of mechanical pumps, in 20 truncated conical vats, 5 vinificators and 20 casks. At the end of vinification, the wine is then passed into barriques and two amphorae, where it matures slowly for 12 – 14 months. In the glass, it has a beautiful deep and brilliant red-purple colour with violet hues. On the nose, it reveals a broad aromatic range from fresh fruit to sweet spices. In the mouth, it is firm and dense. A wine with a fine structure, thanks to the ageing, part in wood and part in amphora, it reveals an incredible fineness of tannins and a beautiful persistence. A pleasantly elegant wine, it is undoubtedly a red that enjoys long ageing potential.
