Michele Chiarlo Barolo DOCG “Tortoniano” – Country: Italy – Capacity: 0.75 Michele Chiarlo Tortoniano is a refined Barolo DOCG produced by Michele Chiarlo. Its name refers to its area of origin. The Nebbiolo grapes that make up this wine, in fact, grow on soils known as Tortonian soils that traditionally produce wines of great complexity and elegance. It is aged for a minimum of 3 years, 24 months of which are spent in barrels of varying sizes, and before release it is left to mature for a few months in the bottle. In the glass it is a beautiful deep ruby red colour. On the nose, it is vast and elegant. It ranges from notes of red fruit to rose petals, with a nice reminder of spice and balsamic notes. In the mouth it is well balanced, with silky tannins, and a long, pleasant, elegant finish.
